From Cultural Violence to Positive Peace: Integrating Social Science and Islamic Reconciliation in Transforming Madurese Carok

Carok—duel celurit pembela kehormatan dalam masyarakat Madura—kekerasan yang disahkan secara kultural dan ditopang kode kehormatan maskulin hegemonik. Penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana integrasi ilmu perilaku dan rekonsiliasi Islam dapat mentransformasikannya menjadi perdamaian berkelanjutan, dengan menanggapi ketegangan antara pembacaan psikologis atas carok sebagai perilaku sosial yang di percaya sebagai kewajiban moral untuk menjaga martabat, serta membingkai ulang melalui konsep kekerasan kultural Galtung dan maskulinitas hegemonik Connell. Berbasis pendekatan kualitatif—observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi—serta berlandaskan paradigma integrasi–interkoneksi Amin Abdullah, penelitian ini mempertemukan transformasi konflik (Lederach), keadilan restoratif (Zehr), dan prinsip islah (sulh/rekonsiliasi) dalam Islam. Analisis ini mengembangkan model penyelesaian konflik terintegrasi dengan tiga dimensi: preventif (pendidikan perdamaian, dakwah transformatif, pembinaan moral Islam), kuratif (mediasi keagamaan, konseling psikologis, islah), dan rehabilitatif (pendekatan bio-psiko-sosial-spiritual untuk pemulihan trauma dan reintegrasi sosial). Model ini membingkai ulang carok dari kekerasan kultural menjadi perdamaian positif, sekaligus menggambarkan potensi transformasi konflik interdisipliner berbasis iman di komunitas Muslim yang kuat tertanam budaya.
