RELIGIOUS COMMUNITY VIEWS ON SHALAWAT WAHIDIYAH:

CASE STUDY AT THE SIMBARWARINGIN VILLAGE, TRIMURJO DISTRICT, CENTRAL LAMPUNG REGENCY

Abstrak

This article presents the results of a study on public views of the Simbarwaringin Village, Trimurjo District, Central Lampung regency with regards to the Wahidiyah Shalawat Broadcaster movement. In addition, it also studied how the community leaders, cultural leaders, as well as religious leaders provide insights into the diversity of thought and belief to the community. This is a qualitative research which employs a case study model. Data have been obtained through interviews, document analysis as well as observation. This research found out that in general, people of Simbarwaringin village are able to accept the existence of the Wahidiyah Shalawat Broadcaster movement and do not concerned with their religious activity. In addition to that, the community leaders, traditional leaders, religious leaders provide understanding to the public about the diversity of thought and belief with good way of communication as they believe that good communication will minimize possible misleading information that could lead to disputes or conflicts.
