Copyright Notice

PENAMAS is committed to open scholarship and to protecting the rights of its authors. This notice explains who holds copyright in the articles published in the journal and the terms under which they are made available.

Copyright Ownership

1

Authors retain copyright in their articles. Publication in PENAMAS does not transfer ownership of copyright to the journal or the publisher.

Authors keep the right to use their own work, including for teaching, research, and later publications, subject to the acknowledgment in section 4.

License Granted to the Journal

2

By submitting a manuscript, authors grant PENAMAS a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish the article, including its first publication, and to reproduce, archive, index, and distribute it in all formats and media. Authors confirm this by signing the License to Publish Agreement at submission. The agreement does not transfer copyright.

Open Access License

3

All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). Under this license, anyone may:

  • Share – copy and redistribute the article in any medium or format;
  • Adapt – remix, transform, and build upon the article,

for non-commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the authors and PENAMAS, a link to the license is provided, changes are indicated, and any adapted work is distributed under the same license. Commercial use requires prior permission from the copyright holders. See also the License Statement.

Author Rights

4

Authors may, without asking permission:

  • deposit the published version in an institutional or subject repository;
  • include the article in a thesis, dissertation, book, or other later work;
  • share the article on personal websites and academic networks;

provided that the first publication in PENAMAS is acknowledged and the article DOI is cited. Authors are also encouraged to share their work online before and during submission.

Author Warranties

5

By submitting a manuscript, authors warrant that:

  • the work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration by another journal;
  • all authors have approved the submission and agreed to the license terms;
  • the article does not infringe the rights of others, and permission has been obtained for any third-party material;
  • the required statements (Data Availability, Conflict of Interest, Funding, and AI Declaration) are accurate.

Breaches are handled under the Publication Ethics and Research Misconduct policies.

Third-Party Materials

6

Authors must obtain permission for third-party content included in their articles, such as images, tables, figures, published texts, and archival or community materials. Such content must be identified with a credit line or rights statement. The CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license applies to the authors’ own work and does not transfer ownership of, or extend the license to, third-party material.

Privacy, Consent, and Sensitive Materials

7

Research involving human participants must respect privacy and informed consent. Identifiable material (names, photographs, recordings, or personal accounts), especially concerning religious beliefs, minorities, or vulnerable groups, may be published only with documented consent and ethical clearance. The open access license does not override privacy or consent requirements. See the Publication Ethics policy.

Copyright and Licensing Concerns

8

Readers, rights holders, and authors may report suspected infringement, misattribution, or licensing problems to the editorial office, identifying the article and the issue concerned. The editors may request documents or corrections and may apply the Complaints and Appeals, Retraction, or Post-Publication Discussion procedures for serious matters.

Permissions and Contact

9

Requests for uses beyond the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 terms, such as commercial reuse, should be sent to the editorial office at penamasjurnal@gmail.com. The editors will refer the request to the authors where necessary.
