Abstrak

This paper presents the research results on Quality of Raudhatul Athfal (RA) in Perspective of Early Childhood Education Standards (PAUD) in Jambi City. RA is an institution of Early Childhood Education which is equivalent with kindergarten. As a formal educational institution, RA is required to meet the educational standards as stated in Government Regulation No. 19 of 2005 on National Education Standards which was further refined by Government Regulation No. 23 of 2013. This research was conducted with a qualitative descriptive approach for 25 days with the data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation studies. A number of important findings from this research were: (1) the research targets mostly met the PAUD standard, except in the aspect of standard of achievement level, process standard and standard of infrastructure; (2) effective communication between teachers and parents and the educators was a factor supporting the continuity of RA, while the limited facilities and infrastructure and the absence of State RA that served as a model or coach was one of the obstacles to improve the quality of RA; (3) the teacher selection model and the accomplished headmaster of RA conducted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs became a part of the effort to make the teachers improve their performance that was needed maintaining.
