Abstrak

This study discussed about the identity negotiation of Christian students at university in Aceh. This focused on analysing the third space formation and hybrid identity by exploring the four Christian - students at two Universities in Aceh that was Unsyiah (Universitas Syaih Kuala) and Unsam (Universitas Samudra). The data was taken by Observation and semi-structured interviewed in 2013 and 2014. By using the life story technique, this displayed that campus public space was the contest power which was not equal between Moslem and Christian Students as a minority within reproduce their identity. Implementing Islamic Sharia forced hybrid cultural identity to the Christian students to wear hijab. The hybrid identity appeared as a result of complicated between a student, Christian as well a citizen of Aceh along with applying Islamic Sharia.
