INTERRELIGIOUS HARMONY IN SURAKARTA CITY:

CASE STUDY OF RELATION BETWEEN AL FURQON MOSQUE AND CURCH OF BETHEL INJIL SEPENUH “NAFIRI SION” IN KARANGTURI, PAJANG DISTRICT

Abstrak

This article discusses about the relation between Masjid Al Furqon and the Church of Bethel Injil Sepenuh (GBIS) where their locations are closed to each other in the pursuit of interreligious harmony in Surakarta city, and to find supporting factors and handicap that make up their harmony. The target of this study is clerics, the elites, and village heads. This research used qualitatif approach. With this approach, the article describes an in-depth and holistic phenomenon in relation to the concept of harmony that has been constructed for long time in the two places of worship. This study found that the management of the two places of worship, Masjid Al Furqon and the Church of Bethel Injil Sepenuh (GBIS) Nafiri Sion Karangturi, Surakarta city uses associative social  interaction approach to develop harmony between them.
