IMPLEMENTATION OF ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS EDUCATION IN INTEGRATED ISLAMIC JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL AMONG NU

This article discusses the implementation of Islamic education teaching at a Junior High School - Integrated Islamic School named Syakur Al Marzuki located at Nglingi, Bareng, Ngasem sub district, Bojonegoro East Java. This is an important theme to be discussed because Islamic teaching is one of the compulsory subjects given for students. At the same time, in the last few years the existence of integrated Islamic schools have been developed significantly, not only schools that are affiliated with the Integrated Islamic Schools network (JSIT), but also schools that are referred to Islamic organizations such as Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) are labeled as integrated Islamic schools. One of those schools is Junior High School Syakur Al Marzuki affiliated with NU. This article was written based on the research result conducted in 2018. Data were gathered by employing three methods namely interview, observation, and library research. Findings of this study shows that the school implemented Islamic teaching during in class teaching, practicing of daily praying and attitudes. Although this is an integrated Islamic school, this education is aimed for students coming from middle and lower class family living around the school since this is a school with lower school fees and even some students are waived from paying the fees. Therefore, those children can study Islamic teaching comprehensively as this school provides a tahfidz program and pesantren (Islamic boarding school).
